Its origin nationwide was informed by the need to put in place some academic and administrative structures that would guide the orderly academic development of the University in the performance of its statutory functions of teaching, research and development as well as public service
The Academic Planning Unit is charged with the performance of certain clearly defined duties to promote a uniform academic direction and purpose to be put in place and serve as a beacon for academic development in the University.
