Construction of Centre for Distance Learning to Commence in Earnest

Alhaji (Dr.) Muhammadu Indimi has observed that he is ready to contribute his own quota towards the development of the University of Maiduguri which according to him is the premier institution in the North-East. He made the statement on Thursday 9th August 2018 when he and some foreign contractors that are expected to construct the new centre for Distance Learning and an International Conference Centre for the University were conducted around the site by the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Ibrahim A. Njodi and other Principal Officers of the University.

The international business mogul pointed out that with the building plan and bill of quantity for the project already in his possession, the construction will start in earnest hence the visit by his business partners to see, appreciate and further get suggestions on how to go about constructing the edifice that should be one of the best in the University.

The Vice-Chancellor informed Dr. Muhammadu Indimi that the area carved out for the project is thirty-four hectares which he said will be adequate for whatever type of building he intends to do and later took him and his partners round the University for a facility tour. The facility tour was expected to give the contractors an insight into the types of structures that dotted the University. They were also taken round the new University Senate Building where the Vice-Chancellor surprised Alhaji (Dr.) Indimi with a birthday cake for his 71st Birthday Anniversary

In a goodwill message at the event, Emeritus Professor Abubakar Abdulhamid, Professor Emeritus John Akinniyi and Professor Dilli Dogo commended Alhaji (Dr.) Muhammadu Indimi over the assistance he has been rendering to the University so far, as well as the support he has also been rendering to the less privileged across the country.
