TETFund Commends Unimaid for Judicious use of Funds

The Executive Secretary of the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund), Dr Abdullahi Bichi Baffa, has congratulated the Vice-Chancellor University of Maiduguri, Professor Ibrahim A. Njodi and his Management staff for the far reaching accomplishments related to the execution of TETFund projects in the University. Dr. Baffa expressed his happiness with quality and standard of TETFund projects executed in the University when the Vice-Chancellor in company of Top Management staff of the University paid him a courtesy call in his office in Abuja, on Tuesday 4th September 2018.
He pointed out that the involvement of critical stakeholders in the state as part and parcel of the University portrays the administration’s genuine sincerity of purpose towards ensuring that the institution gets only the best, and therefore advised the Management to continue to maintain the standards so far attained. TETFund, he promised, will support the University’s Centre for Countering Violent Extremism adding that already the Federal Executive Council has approved for TETFund to enhance security and restore some structures destroyed in the University during the insurgents’ activities in the state when 2018 budget is approved.
In his remark, the Vice-Chancellor, on behalf of Management expressed profound gratitude to the Fund for the huge intervention given to the University stressing that the visit by the Executive Secretary to the University to commission some projects is a testimony of the support and understanding he has for the University.
In a related development, the Chairman House on Committee on Tertiary Education and TETFund, Hon. Aminu Suleiman Goro, has observed that Nigeria does not lack the officers that can take the country to greater heights, judging from the human, material and infrastructural developments he witnessed at the University of Maiduguri. The lawmaker stated this when the Vice-Chancellor, University of Maiduguri, in company of Top Management Staff of the institution paid him a thank you visit at his National Assembly office on Tuesday 4th September 2018.
Hon. Aminu stated that the University’s judicious use of resources it draws from TETFund is worth emulating by other higher institutions in the country stressing that what his committee did in appropriating Funds for the construction of a Senate Chamber is not anything new and the visit of the University Management is just a show of commitment and joy from the institution. He then thanked the Management staff for the visit and assured them that the House Committee will continue to work with the University for its success.
In his remarks, the Vice-Chancellor University of Maiduguri, Professor Ibrahim A. Njodi informed the lawmaker that he and the Management staff are in his office to thank him for the personal interest he took regarding the building of the new Senate Chamber for the University which had eluded it for the past forty-two years. He therefore thanked him for also coming to perform the commissioning of the Chamber and wish him God’s guidance in the performance of his legislative duties. He then presented him with a souvenir to commemorate the visit.
