About the Annals of Borno

This is a multi-disciplinary regional journal of research and documentation in the Human, Natural, Social and Applied Sciences, published by the University of Maiduguri Press (Publishing House). It mainly carries both synchronic and diachronic studies on Northeastern Nigeria, comprising Adamawa, Bauchi, Borno, Gombe, Taraba and Yobe States and on the Chad Basin – the point of contact between Nigeria and her neighbouring countries of Cameroun, Niger and Chad.

The journal, which was founded by the University of Maiduguri, is currently sponsored by the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund). It has a direct academic, cultural and social relevance to the nation as a whole and to the international academic community. Although studies by University of Maiduguri staff may feature prominently, contributions with appropriate regional focus are invited from specialists in various disciplines within and outside Nigeria.
