Welcome to the Faculty of Agriculture which was established in 1978 with the cardinal objective of producing for the nation well â€“ trained graduates of Agriculture. To achieve this objective, the Faculty of Agriculture started with five Departments, Viz: Department of Agricultural Economics and Extension, Department of Agricultural Technology, Department of Animal and Food Science, Department of Crop Science and Department of Soil Science. Dean
Professor. Baba Gana Jugudum Kabir is the current Dean of Faculty of Agriculture. He started his higher in Ramat Polytechnic Maiduguri, where he obtained National Diploma in General Agriculture in 1987. In 1990, he was awarded the Bureau for External Aid Scholarship in the former U.S.S.R (present day Russia) and admitted to the Kuban State Agricultural University, Krasnodar where he obtained B.Sc. Agronomy and M.Sc. Agriculture (Plant Protection) in 1995 and 1996, respectively. Again, in 1998 he was awarded same Ph.D. Scholarship by the Russia Federation. He obtained Ph.D. in Plant Protection from the Peoplesâ€™ Friendship University of Russia, Moscow in 2002. Prof. Kabir began his academic career as a Lecturer II in the Department of Agricultural Education, Kashim Ibrahim College of Education, Maiduguri in 1997. He was upgraded to the rank of a Principal Lecturer in 2003, after obtaining Ph.D. Degree. In 2004, he joined the University of Maiduguri as Lecturer I in the Department of Crop Protection and rose to the rank of a Professor in 2017.

Dr. Abubakar was born on the 23rd July 1971 in Monkin Zing Local Government area of Taraba State. He was enrolled into Monkin Central Primary. From 1977 to 1982 which he completed in 1982. He proceeded to Government Science Secondary School from 1982 to 1988. He secured admission into University of Maiduguri to study for a Degree in 1991, where he bagged a Degree in Agricultural Economics and Extension with Second Class Upper Division in 1997. He proceeded for his National Youth Service Corp in Benue state. He was at one time a legislative Aide to the Chairman Senate Committee on Special Duties in 1999, he left the services of the National Assembly to enroll for a postgraduate degree in the Department of Agricultural Economics in 2004. After a successful completion of his MSc Degree he was offered appointment with the Department as an Assistant Lecturer. Not yet done he enrolled for his Doctor of philosophy degree in 2005, which he completed in 2015. He was promoted Senior Lecturer in the same year. In 2018 he was again promoted to the rank of a Reader. In appreciation for his hard work and dedication to duty he was appointed as Examination Coordinator in his Department, a position he hold for 10 years, he was also PG Coordinator and Faculty representative in the University Senate and various committees. He was elected Sub-Dean in 2021.

Dr. Ebenezer Ayoola Felix, was born in Malumfashi, Katsina State, Nigeria on the 27th November, 1962. He attended St. Paulâ€™s Primary School, Ojo, Lagos State from 1968-1971 and completed his primary education at the Holy Trinity Primary School, Maiduguri, Borno State, Nigeria in 1972. He obtained the General Certificate of Education Oâ€™Level Certificate in 1979 and proceeded to the Nigerian Institute of Journalism from 1980-1982. He later served the defunct National Concord Newspapers from 1982-1984 as a political reporter/sub-editor of CommDepartmenty Concord Newspaper, Maiduguri, Borno State. Dr. Felix joined the services of the University of Maiduguri on 8th October, 1984 and rose through the ranks to the rank of Deputy Registrar. He has served and still serving on several committees of the University and held several sensitive positions in the University. He holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Management (PGDM), Master of Business Administration (MBA), M.Sc. (Mass Communication) and Ph.D. (Strategic Information Management). He is married with four children.
