    The Department of Civil and Water Resources Engineering was established in 1984 to the award of Bachelor of Engineering (B.Eng) Degree in Civil and Water Resources Engineering. The Department was was initially running four-year post A-Level degree programmes up to 1998, switched over to five year post o-level degree programmes in that same year. The origin of the Department of Civil and Water Resources Engineering was intimately connected with the Department of Agricultural Engineering, whose transfer to the Faculty gave a strong support not only in terms of planning, but even after the exodus of the senior academics staff from Czechoslovakia. Apart from undergraduate degree programmes, the Department also has Postgraduate degree programmes at both Master’s and Ph.D. levels. The Department has full accreditation from both the National University Commission (NUC) and Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria. (COREN). .
