IBRAHIM UMAR is the Bursar and Chief Financial Adviser, University of Maiduguri.
He is a 2001 Accountancy graduate and a holder of Postgraduate Diploma (PGDA) Accountancy of the University of Maiduguri.
He joined the services of the University in 1984 as Clerical Assistant (Accounts). He is a thorough breed Accountant who started his career in the University from the base
and rose to the echelon of his profession as Bursar.

The College of Medical Sciences was established 43 years ago by the University of Maiduguri act 83 of 1979. The College of Medical Sciences has since grown to become the largest in this University, with a total of 5 Faculties and 29 Departments.

Our mission is to sustain the advancement of knowledge, attitude and practice of human Medicine and health Services through competency directed at teaching, high-impact research, effective clinical and innovative community services, that meets local, National and International needs.
VISION
Our vision is to make College of Medical Sciences, University of Maiduguri to be among the top ten in Sub-Saharan Africa by the year 2030 comparable to any College of Medicine actively engaged in imparting contemporary knowledge, using high quality equipment’s, to students using modern approaches, as well as improving the health status of its immediate community, Nigerians and beyond.
The main functions of the College include teaching, research and community service. The teaching and training of Medical Doctors, Anatomist, Physiologist, Nutrition and Dietetics Scientist and Allied Health Professionals to meet high international standard is one of the most cardinal objectives of the College. A Medical Doctor trained in this institution is expected to be well versed in medical and health problems generally and the tropics in particular. The training is oriented towards preventive medicine and community-based primary health care.
