PROFESSOR MOHAMMED LAMINU MELE, is the Acting Vice-Chancellor, University of Maiduguri. Before his appointment, he was Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Central Administration). Professor Mele is a 1999 B.A. (English Language) graduate of the University of Maiduguri. He joined the services of the University in September, 2004 as Assistant Lecturer. He rose through the ranks to the position of Professor in October, 2016. He was two times Head, Department of English and Literary Studies (2015 to 2019) and Sub-Dean, Faculty of Arts. He was also the Director, Instructional Technology from 1st December 2020 until his appointment as Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Central Administration) in February, 2021. Professor Mele is an unassuming administrator and academic with great capacity for human and capital resources management. He was a Member, Governing Board of the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB), Editor of numerous journals and member of numerous professional bodies including Nigeria Academy of Letters and the Linguistic Association of Nigeria. He has several awards and had served on many Committees and Boards both within and outside the University.

AHMAD ALHAJI LAWAN is the Registrar and Secretary to Council and Senate of the University of Maiduguri. He was appointed Registrar in March 2022. He is a 1989 B.A. Education graduate of the University of Maiduguri. He holds a Masters Degree in Public Administration as well as Master Degree in International Relations. He joined the services of the University as Administrative Assistant in 1992 and rose through the ranks to his present position of Registrar. Before his appointment as the Registrar, he was on leave of absence at the University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital where he served as Director of Administration. He is a versatile administrator with experience in almost all segments of the University. He has to his credit many distinguished awards, Fellowships and Memberships from professional bodies including Member, National Institute of Management (MNIM) and Fellow, Institute of Chartered Administrators (FCIA).

IBRAHIM UMAR is the Bursar and Chief Financial Adviser, University of Maiduguri. He is a 2001 Accountancy graduate and a holder of Postgraduate Diploma (PGDA) Accountancy of the University of Maiduguri. He joined the services of the University in 1984 as Clerical Assistant (Accounts). He is a thorough breed Accountant who started his career in the University from the base and rose to the echelon of his profession as Bursar. He holds Fellowships and Memberships of many professional bodies including Fellow Certified National Accountant (FCNA), Fellow, Institute of Business Diplomacy and Financial Management (FBDFM) and Fellow, Certified Chartered Forensic Accountant (FCCrFA).

PROFESSOR YAHAYA ALIYU is the University Librarian. He was appointed Librarian in March, 2020. Professor Aliyu is a 1995 Bachelor of Library Science (BLS) graduate of the University of Maiduguri. He joined the services of the University in July 2000 as Graduate Assistant and rose through the ranks to his present rank of Professor of Library and Information Science in October, 2021. He was Sub-Dean, Faculty of Education before his appointment as University Librarian. He is a certified member of Librarian Council of Nigeria (CLN).
