Centres
Centre for Entrepreneurship and Enterprise Development
The Centre helps people who want to run something of their own: students who have an idea, graduates who cannot find a job, and the small businesses of the region that need training, a workspace and advice.
What the Centre does
Most small enterprises in the region do not fail for want of a market. They fail because nobody showed the owner how to keep records, how to price, or how to plan for a lean month. The Centre’s work is that teaching, given in short courses and in a place where a new business can actually sit while it is starting.
It also carries research on the enterprises of the region: what they trade in, how they are financed, what makes them close, and what would keep them open.
