Welcome Notes from the Dean

Welcome to the Faculty of Basic Medical Sciences, the Faculty is housed in Jibril Aminu Complex, comprising of four Departments, Human Anatomy, Human Physiology, Medical Biochemistry and Nutrition and Dietetics. We begin the training of MBBS, Dental and other Medical related courses to prepare our young Doctors and other Allied Health Sciences to the normal of the Human for their understanding of the diseased (Pathology), also interpretation of results to make diagnosis before they can treat the disease the patient is presenting with. The Faculty was established at the 293rd Meeting of Senate held on Thursday, 29th March, 2018.

The organogram of the Faculty consists of the Deans office and secretary, the faculty office, Faculty examination office, offices of the Heads of Departments and their secretaries, staff offices, Laboratories and Lecture halls.

The Vision is to produce competent human resources for health and to advance knowledge through research and community education.

Mission of the Faculty: To train high quality personnel in numbers which will make a significant difference to skill and expertise available for the solution of health problems of the country and to inculcate the highest standards of ethical and moral values in the trainees so that they would practice their profession selflessly and be relevant to their community and thus, contribute to the improvement of health of the people of Nigeria
